Dewey Thompson serves the Missouri Training Institute as a Senior Continuing Education Coordinator. Dewey has worked as an independent consultant providing training services to a wide variety of private and public-sector organizations. Most of Dewey’s work centers around making people more comfortable with the rapid changes that are occurring in the workplace and helping staff realize their full potential in serving a vast array of co-workers and customers. He has trained thousands of professionals across the country in topical areas such as change, partnering and collaboration, customer service, quality and continuous improvement, leadership, strategic planning and in developing integrated systems of service delivery using process mapping tools and techniques. Prior to his work at the University, Dewey worked as a training coordinator for a local bank providing education and orientation services to new employees and coaching all staff on strategic organizational changes. Dewey served as the lead facilitator for the United States Department of Labor’s (USDOL) Workforce Excellence Network’s cadre of trainers and assisted in the development of Tools of the Trade, a USDOL sponsored website. Dewey holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri.
