Alan St. John is the Director of the Missouri Training Institute (MTI). MTI is part of the College of Business at the University of Missouri – Columbia, and provides professional development, training, and consulting services to businesses and government agencies. Alan joined MTI as its Assistant Director in 1987 and has served as Director since 1992. He has over 25 years of experience administering training and professional development programs; training consultation; conducting needs assessments; and designing, delivering and evaluating training programs. He has served on a number of State and Federal committees examining workforce and staff development policies. Alan is a past recipient of the Missouri Governor’s Award for Quality and Productivity and the National Association of Workforce Development Professional’s annual award for staff development & training. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction/Instructional Technology.
