Civics and Government in the AEL Classroom

Civics and government topic areas provide an abundance of opportunities for students to develop the logic and reasoning skills necessary to be successful in the workplace, post-secondary training and to become informed citizens in a culturally diverse and democratic society.  This workshop will address the role of civics and government in the Adult College and Career Readiness standards as well as explore ways to integrate civics and government non-fiction content into all disciplines.  Participants will have the opportunity to experience lessons, activities, and tools which will assist them in teaching civics and government content while creating a highly effective learning environment.
