ESL: Grammar, Pronunciation and Vocabulary

Participants will consider five general second language learning approaches to examine factors involved in language learning and teaching.  Next, we will discuss the theory that guides the teaching of grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, as well as participate in a number of activities in each of the language sub-skills.  Finally, participants will take part in a structured discussion in order to consider their practice in light of information learned and issues raised through discussion.

What you will learn:

  • Examine five second language classroom approaches.
  • Consider issues related to the teaching of grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
  • Participate in and evaluate activities designed to teach grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
  • Reflect on your personal classroom practices regarding these sub-skills.
