Economics and Geography in the AEL Classroom
According to a study conducted by the Gallup Organization, 4 out 10 adults and high school students were unable to answer questions related to basic economic concepts. In addition, it is important in today’s global economy to have an understanding of geography and its impact on government and economic growth. Economic and Geography content topics provide an abundance of opportunities for students to develop the logic and reasoning skills necessary to make sound economic choices in the workplace and their personal lives, as well as become more informed consumers, workers, producers, and citizens. Participants will have the opportunity to experience lessons, activities, and tools which will assist them in teaching economics and geography content while creating a highly effective learning environment.
